Power Station
Reduce your reliance on diesel generators with the WJ Sunstone Power Station—a robust, sustainable off-grid energy solution. Combining a high-efficiency solar array, a Bladon micro turbine HVO generator, a 1000L fuel bowser, and an advanced battery bank (30–50kWh), the Power Station delivers clean, uninterrupted power in the harshest environments.
The system is housed in a ruggedised, powder-coated steel cabinet with concealed hinges, IP66 protection, and anti-theft features including built-in GPS. It is engineered to UK standards with CE marking, EMC compliance, and components from expert manufacturing partners.
The Power Station is compatible with WJ Sunstone’s QuickGrid solar system—available in South-facing and East-West configurations—with six 425W high-efficiency monocrystalline panels per array. QuickGrid can generate up to 3kWh of additional solar capacity and is designed with wind resistance and optional ballast integration for stability. The system can also integrate additional solar panels and wind turbines to further expand renewable energy capacity.

Case Study
Delivering Innovative Rail Technologies on Scotland’s Far North Line
In a strategic partnership, Telent and WJ Sunstone have pioneered a sustainable power solution for remote railway stations along Scotland’s Far North Line.
Faced with the prohibitive cost of extending traditional power infrastructure—estimated at over £500,000—the collaboration introduced a hybrid renewable energy system tailored for off-grid locations.
The implemented system harnesses solar energy to meet up to 80% of the stations’ power requirements, supplemented by battery storage for periods of low sunlight. To ensure uninterrupted service, a backup generator powered by hydrotreated vegetable oil (HVO) is employed, emitting only 10% of the CO₂ compared to conventional diesel generators. This approach not only significantly reduces environmental impact but also operational costs.
Key benefits of this initiative include:
- A 90% reduction in emissions
- Decreased fuel deliveries from six to one annually, lowering associated travel emissions
- Elimination of on-site CO₂ and noise emissions during solar and battery operation
This project exemplifies how innovative, clean energy technologies can effectively address the challenges of powering remote infrastructure, aligning with broader goals of reducing our relaince on fossil fuels.
